Dui Insurance

The new DUI law for Car Insurance?
Has the law changed regarding Auto Insurance and DUI drivers on how long the DUI stays on your record ? It used to be 7 years but now an Insurance Company is stating that the law changed this year to 10 years. Is this true?
THis is in the East Bay and does anyone know what is a good website that will explain this. We keep finding websites that just explain DUI rules but nothing on the law for Auto Insurance.
Rules vary by state, and you didn’t say where you are. If you are in CA, yes, they can now look back 10 years for serious offenses. If you want to add your location, you’ll get a state specific answer.
But I can’t think of a reason the Insurance would lie about such a thing. So I would guess they can.
There are a lot of new laws in effect now in CA. Read about them here: http://www.snopes.com/politics/traffic/california2008.asp
