Student Health Insurance Carriers
23/m my parents h/Insurance expired what are my options I’m a student?
Ok I’m 23 male my parents health Insurance for me expired 39 days ago they won’t let me be on it anymore due to my age.
I have a preexisting stomach problem I need treated. I want to get a private plan but am afraid they won’t cover it.
As I understand under HIP PA if I get a new plan within 62 days of my Insurance expiring the new Insurance carrier must treat my preexisting conditions is this right?
I have nothing seriously wrong with me but as soon as my coverage started with my new plan I would go to the doctors ASAP which will raise the red flag for my new carrier… I want to be proactive and know my rights should they deny me health Insurance.
It’s BS the in US at 23 you can still be a student and not be on your parents plan… it puts a hard working student in with no job in a very tough position.
Also my college health plan is very measley and has low low coverage it’s worthless.
