Cheap Health Insurance for college students?
I live in Orlando, FL and i’m a non-smoking college student. Does anyone know of any Cheap Health Insurance or even health discount plans that I could get on just to cover the cost of my Bipolar disorder meds and possibly a couple of visits to the psychiatrist? Yearly physicals and examinations I can handle, but this psychiatrist that I see is $200.00 a visit PLUS the cost of all of the perscriptions he prescribes to me. HELP!

Many colleges have health centers on campus and retain a psychiatrist to see students in need. The GPs at the health center on campus (hopefully you’ve got one) may also be willing to write the script and/or just CONSULT with your regular psychiatrist. Wal-Mart covers some common bipolar meds at $4 / script (another option for you). Also, MANY people are eligible for script help for which you can apply at http://www.pparx.com Some colleges also offer “student Insurance” – you would be wise to inquire.
