Don’t you think America should take care of American needs first before getting involved in foreign affairs?
America spends billions and billions on foreign countries with foreign aide and arming foreign countries (including brutal dictators like Mugabe and Musharraf). We also are spending trillions on Iraq, a country that had NOTHING to do with 9/11 and where propaganda was used.
You are telling me that it is fair that a college student gets stuck with thousands and thousands of dollars in debt while people in Israel are getting welfare from American taxpayers?
You are telling me that someone who is poor or mentally ill (or both) and can’t afford prescription drugs or to go to the doctor because they have no health Insurance while we spend trillons on Iraq?
People are losing their homes to foreclosure due to irresponsible lenders and many people are losing their jobs. Do you honestly believe arming the Saudis, arming African dictators like Robert Mugabe, or arming North Korea is more important than dealing with these needs?
Shouldn’t American people mean more to their leaders?
It’s an investment in our future.
The problem now, with globalization, that investment is becoming a wash. We need to concentrate on our future and stop telling other countries what to do.
War is not one of them.
What would have happened if we negotiated with Saddam to secure oil rights, instead of spending a trillion dollars to secure it?
