Student Health Insurance Ny State
I’m about to go to college and I have no Insurance…?
I have severe asthma and I don’t have Insurance anymore since I turned 19 and I’m going to college in January. In NH college students can still get health care but you have to be in-state. My college is in NY. I’m also recieving some grants and financial aid. (My Expected Family Contribution on the FAFSA was $0) Is there any way I will get health care there since I get financial aid? Or are there any programs in NY for situations like this?

Part of your registration fees is to pay for the university health center services. Whether you are resident or not.
You should be able to get medical care at the university. You need to check and see what procedures you need to follow in order to get emergency aid in case of asthma attack. And specifically what care you might be able to expect.
You could also ask at the health center where you could get student medical coverage for non emergencies.
Your financial aid status is not a consideration.
